Federal lawsuit by Las Vegas employee asserting years of sexual harassment and retaliation by KB Home.

LAS VEGAS, Sept. 10, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Stephanie Cherney, a Lead Area Sales Representative for KB Home in Las Vegas, has filed a federal lawsuit alleging years of sexual harassment and coercion by a former manager and retaliation by company management after she ended the coerced sexual relationship and reported discrimination.

Cherney, whom KB Home named one of its top 10 sales counselors companywide in FY2024, remains employed by the company. Her lawsuit, filed on July 22, 2026, in the U.S. District Court for the District of Nevada, asserts claims under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, the Nevada Fair Employment Practices Act and the Equal Pay Act.

According to the complaint, Cherney was subjected to years of unwanted and coercive sexual conduct and denied advancement opportunities. The lawsuit alleges that after Cherney refused to have sex with her manager, management retaliated against her by lowering her performance rating, interfering with sales opportunities, denying pricing concessions available to other salespeople, and stopping her advancement.

"Ms. Cherney has continued to excel at her job while enduring years of sexual harassment, retaliation and unequal treatment," said Lynne Bernabei, counsel for Cherney.
