OAKBROOK TERRACE, Ill., Sept. 02, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Global Technology Industry Association (GTIA) today announced the latest recipients of its 2026 charitable giving, awarding more than $3.2 million to 73 nonprofit organizations across the globe. The grants are part of GTIA's previously announced $5 million charitable giving commitment for 2026, a significant increase from approximately $1.9 million awarded in 2025, and reflect the collective impact of GTIA's global member community.
The latest round of grants, totaling $3,212,600, support organizations using technology to expand opportunity, strengthen communities and address systemic barriers through initiatives focused on digital inclusion, workforce development, STEM education, cybersecurity, accessibility, AI-powered learning and economic mobility.
GTIA's charitable giving model is guided by its members through two pathways: grantmaking, which includes applications from organizations referred by GTIA members in addition to strategic grants selected by the charitable giving committee; and member-directed giving, in which members nominate and vote on funding recipients. Together, these programs ensure GTIA's charitable investments reflect the expertise, priorities and values of its global membership.
The organizations announced today are connected to GTIA's member community and reflect the charitable priorities, community connections and shared values of members worldwide — highlighting the collective impact of the technology industry.
“What makes GTIA's giving distinct is that it's guided by our members, not dictated from the team," said Kelly Ricker, COO of GTIA. "The causes we support reflect what our members care about and where they see technology making the biggest difference. These grants show what's possible when an endowment is put to work in service of a community's own priorities.”
The latest grantees represent a diverse range of communities and causes, but share a common belief in technology's power to create opportunity. From cybersecurity training programs and technology-enabled education initiatives to digital inclusion, healthcare access and workforce development efforts, the grants highlight both the global reach of GTIA's membership and the universal impact of technology.
"For me, one of the most rewarding aspects of this program is seeing members become personally connected to the outcomes," said Carrie Green, chair of the GTIA giving committee. "When a member introduces a nonprofit, they care about and then see that organization receives support, the impact becomes much more meaningful. These grants reflect the values of our members, the strength of their community relationships, and the difference we can make together on a global scale."
"The most powerful thing about GTIA's giving efforts isn't the dollars themselves," Ricker added. "It's the fact that thousands of technology companies are coming together around a shared belief that technology should create opportunities, improve lives and strengthen communities. The real story behind these grants is our members and the incredible organizations they champion."
