EDMONTON, AB, July 20, 2026 /CNW/ -- On behalf of the Minister of Industry and Minister responsible for Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions, the Honourable Mélanie Joly, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Industry Karim Bardeesy will announce significant federal funding for research that will advance knowledge and understanding of people and societies, as well as positively impact communities across Canada.

Parliamentary Secretary Bardeesy will be joined by Chief Operating Officer and Vice-President, Research of the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC) Sylvie Lamoureux.
